🌈 Happy Pride Month from Radio Theatre Omaha! 🌈
This June, we celebrate the vibrant voices, bold stories, and powerful contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community—not just in the world, but right here in our theatre family.
Theatre has always been a space where truth is spoken, identities are embraced, and compassion, empathy, and love take center stage. The LGBTQIA+ community has helped shape the heart of theatre with courage, creativity, and authenticity—and we are endlessly grateful.
At Radio Theatre Omaha, we are committed to amplifying queer voices, honoring diverse stories, and creating spaces where everyone belongs.
🏳️🌈 This month and EVERY month is Pride Month. We stand proud. We stand together.

🌟 Meet Francisco Franco — our Managing Director and all-around theatre powerhouse! 🎭
Francisco is a theater artist based in Omaha, Nebraska, and we’re lucky to have him helping lead the way as Managing Director of Radio Theatre Omaha (RTO). He brings a wealth of creative energy, community spirit, and behind-the-scenes magic to everything we do.
In addition to his role at RTO, Francisco is the Rental Manager and Production Assistant at BlueBarn Theatre, and his directing credits span from UNO’s QWIT Festival to the Crossing The Street Festival. He’s also co-directed powerful pieces like Perdido En Mi Cabeza (Blue Barn Big Damn Door Festival) and Mother Night (Omaha’s Fringe Festival), and you may have seen him perform in Dance Nation (Blue Barn Theatre), Meet Me in St. Louis (Bellevue Little Theatre), Stories On The Brink (Anastasis Theatre), and Down the Rabbit Hole (Radio Theatre Omaha) — just to name a few.
Whether he’s on stage, backstage, or on the mic, Francisco brings heart, vision, and serious talent to the world of audio drama and live theatre. 🎧🎙️

🎉 Say hello to board member — Brian Kokensparger! 🎙️
Brian is a writer, actor, and longtime professor at Creighton University, where he blends computer science with storytelling and digital humanities (yes, he’s that cool). He’s all about using audio drama to make a real impact — the kind that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
He’s also a proud husband to Karen and dad to two amazing daughters, Anna and Kathleen — who are now raising the next generation of little audio drama makers.
We’re so excited to have Brian on board and can’t wait for the creativity and heart he brings to the table.

🎧 Leadership Spotlight 🎧
Meet the Mind Behind the Mission
We’re proud to introduce Jackson Newman, the Artistic Director of Radio Theatre Omaha (RTO) and the creative force guiding our latest production, PERSEVERANCE.
Originally from Council Bluffs, Jackson brings a rich background in theatre to his role—having performed in and directed productions across the Midwest. His work is defined by a strong narrative sensibility and a passion for meaningful, thought-provoking storytelling.
Before stepping into leadership, Jackson was a featured voice artist in several beloved RTO productions, including The Grinch Who Came to Dinner, Atlas Slugged, and Down the Rabbit Hole. That experience as a performer continues to shape his directorial vision, infusing each project with depth, nuance, and heart.
As we embark on the ill-fated mission of PERSEVERANCE, Jackson invites you to lean in, listen closely… and try not to mind the sounds outside the station.
It’s just the sandstorm.
Godspeed.
